Who Are We?

At The Loft Conversion Company we do exactly what we say - we do not undertake any other type of work. Our speciality is loft conversions - its where our experience and expertise lies.

Established in 1989, we currently convert in the region of 50 lofts per year. Despite our success in the market place we are, and intend to remain, a small, locally based company, enabling us to maintain our reputation for providing a service of which we are quite proud.

We make every effort to engage our clients in each stage of the consultative process. We appreciate that this is a major decision for you and that what you, the client, decide needs to be right - and needs to be right first time round. With this in mind, we will listen to you, give you advice and feedback and ensure that, at the end of the day, you, the customer, get what you want. We are proud of our discerning approach to design, striving to use an appropriate style with an eye for the finer details.

In contrast to many companies, The Loft Conversion Company offers a quotation based on a Guaranteed Fixed Price on the basis that the key elements of the design and specification remain unchanged by yourselves - thus protecting you from hidden extras. We offer a full list of all our past clients, which includes names, areas and telephone numbers, and it is a condition that new clients agree to join the referral list. How Do We Approach Each Project?

We only ever have a maximum of four clients at any one time. Each of our teams is assigned to an individual client for the duration of the conversion. Your project will be scheduled as a set block of time, with a start date and a completion date, and we work continuously through this period. In principle, work should start and end on these set dates before your team moves on to the next client. However, the reality is that, at times, there may be some overlap at the beginning and end of a job.

  • We work with a Guaranteed Fixed Price contract designed to offer you a completed job, irrespective of any problems that may arise.
  • We handle all aspects of planning consent and building regulations approval for you.
  • All materials used are to current British Standards; our plumber is Corgi Registered and we only use an approved electrician.
  • We place great importance on our domestic skills too, laying dust-sheets and allotting time at the end of each day to clean and hoover up after ourselves. We are keenly aware that we are working in your home.
  • Last but not least, we firmly believe that loft conversions should be an integral part of your home rather then something that has been bolted on as an afterthought.

How is the Company Structured?

The Loft Conversion Company comprises of three teams each with two carpenters supported by our plasterer, roofer, electrician and plumber. Project Managers, Clive Bordoli and Tim Shearing co-ordinate the work, all of which is overseen by Managing Director, Chris Bonsey. Chris's daughter Chloe has recently joined the company and is supporting Chris on the Sales/Design side.
